How to List

Are you part of a business or organization that wants to reach out to the Transgender community or has resources we should be aware of?

Do you know of a resource that you found to be helpful and think others will benefit from it as well?

TransCentralPA is happy to list businesses, organizations and resources that cater to and support the Transgender community.  Please send us an email with the organization's information, website and description  to:

Central Pennsylvania LGBTQ Community

LGBT Community Center of Central Pennsylvania
The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Center of Central PA is a volunteer-led effort to create a regionally representative community center that is both a location and a unifying point for central Pennsylvania's large, diverse, and multi-county LGBT population.  The mission of the LGBT Center of Central PA is to create common ground for the LGBT community and allies in central Pennsylvania by providing services through educational, cultural, and community activities that foster wholeness. We seek to:

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment

  • Provide and support comprehensive programs throughout the community

  • Embrace diversity, health, and wellness

Equality Pennsylvania
Because of social myths about gender, transgender people face many issues, from unemployment to homelessness to acts of violence. By educating ourselves and others, Equality Pennsylvania fights for the right to live openly without fear of abuse or discrimination. Equality Pennsylvania is devoted to ending discrimination and violence against transgender people through education and advocacy on state and local issues of importance to transgender people. By empowering transgender individuals and rallying our allies to educate and influence policymakers and others, Equality Pennsylvania offers a strong and clear voice for transgender equality.

Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition

Silent Witness Peacekeepers, a program of the LGBT Center of Central Pennsylvania
Silent Witness Peacekeepers Alliance (SWPA) is an organization of gay and straight allies dedicated to providing a non-confrontational buffer between the LGBT (lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender) community and those who would protest LGBT events. We are peacekeepers, not counter-protesters, protecting everyone's right of free speech. We provide visual protection from "street preachers" and protesters at events such as Pridefests, the showing of films such as Jim in Bold and For the Bible Tells Me So, or staging of plays such as The Laramie Project, using our bodies and rainbow umbrellas as shields. In times of need, we intervene to prevent confrontations between protesters and event participants, often acting as escorts for those who would like to attend such events. Where there are those who publicly promote hate, we will be there to help provide a loving, supportive front opposing them. We provide a visual representation of support for those in our society who may feel marginalized, while simultaneously protecting everyone's rights of free speech and religion.

PRIDE Festival of Central Pennsylvania
The mission of the Pride Festival of Central PA is to increase positive visibility of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Straight Ally community of Central Pennsylvania by providing opportunities to express and celebrate diverse perspectives, emphasizing acceptance of all individuals regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

The Pride Festival of Central PA promotes awareness of and showcases organizations available to the GLBT and Straight Ally community, provides a safe environment for people of the GLBT and Straight Ally community to celebrate their diversity, and supports local economic growth by partnering with the community and attracting individuals to Central Pennsylvania.
